Cinema Halls to be Opened with 100% Capacity In India from February 1

Under the SOP provided by the Ministry, it will be mandatory to ensure a space of at least 6 feet in the auditorium and common areas. It would be compulsory for people entering theaters to wear masks. The sanitizer arrangement is mandatory for people entering and leaving the cinema hall. Spitting in the cinema hall should be prohibited. It will be mandatory for people going to the theater to have the Arogya Setu App on their mobile phones. All of these rules will come into force as of 1 February and will run in cinema halls with a capacity of 100%.

Apart from this, Covid-19 guidelines were issued to control the crowd around parking lots and cinema halls. It will be mandatory to follow social distances and in parking. Also, more people going to the lift together will be prohibited. Crowd gathering outside the common space, lobby, and washroom of the cinema hall at times will also be prohibited. Around the same time, viewers will be asked not to leave their seats, since long periods kept, so that, according to the rules, people seated in various seats will be able to switch to the auditorium.

It is known that with the spread of the Coronavirus in the world in March 2020, cinemas, theaters, and multiplexes were closed down. Because of this, Bollywood and the TV industry were struck by a huge economic shock. The government allowed the theater to open in the month of October under Unlock 5. After that, states like Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka began to open theaters with a viewing capacity of 50%. Rules such as wearing masks, social distances, and sanitization were implemented prior to accessing theaters.
