Now You Can Pay For Parking Directly Via Google Maps: Know How?

The new Google Maps update will now allow users to pay for street parking and also pay transit fares directly from the app.

This project was initiated in partnership with Google Pay.

Street parking and transit fees will be charged directly from the Google Maps app, as announced by the company. Google Maps has announced that two mobile parking payment solutions providers, Passport and ParkMobile, will be added to its app.

In collaboration with Google Pay, these features added to the Google Maps app.

The procedure for this is to simply tap the ‘Pay for Parking’ button. This button will appear when you are near your destination. You will need to input your meter number, the amount of time you want to park, and tap ‘Pay’ when you click this button. If you wish to add more time to your meter, you can easily prolong your parking session with a few more taps.

Google has also said that it is capable of paying bus fares to more than 80 transit agencies around the world. As per Vishal Dutta, Product Manager, Google Maps, and Fausto Araujo, Product Manager, Google Pay, “You will now be able to plan your trip, buy your fare, and start riding without trying to change between multiple apps.”

Will It Come To India?

Google said it is expanding its offer to pay transit fares to more than 80 transit agencies around the world.

As per the news, there is also a way to pay in advance, and you can also get your fare ready to go before you get to the station. This would be very beneficial if you are not aware of the payment options, which are supported by the Transport Network.

When the transit instructions are issued by users, you will be able to pay using your phone credit or debit cards that are already linked to your Google Pay account.

Pay for Parking started on Android in 400+ cities in the U.S. (including Boston, Cincinnati, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C, and more).

Reports say that the ability to pay for transportation from Google Maps will be extended to 80 agencies nationwide on Android in the upcoming days.
